I invite you to turn in the Scripture to Mark chapter 3 verses 7 through 12...Mark chapter 3 verses 7 through 12. We're going to be reading that in just a few moments but since it's been over three months since our last look at the gospel of Mark, we need to kind of prepare our hearts and our minds for what is before us this morning.There are four gospels in the New Testament, as you know, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. These four gospels have a singular purpose and that purpose is summed up in the final gospel, the gospel of John. In John's gospel, chapter 20 and verse 31, John says this, 'These have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and that believing you may have life in His name.'John tells us that the reason that the histories of the life and ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ have been written is so that we may believe that He is the Son of God and that by believing have eternal life in His name.
