Gideon was a man used by God to vanquish the oppression of the enemy in his people's lives. Gideon got off to a great start with the Lord. But he had a hellish finish. God needs some people whom he can use who want to go all the way with him but they must stay small, dependent on God in their own sight and never touch his glory. A warning against getting your eyes on the church, or the leadership, rather than God. To God alone be the glory, not flesh.
