In this final session David Guzik deals with different trends and movements that have effected the church in tha past 2 centuries, Revival is characterised by 3 main evidences, the church is awakened, sinners are saved in great number and society is impacted, to the extent that jails have closed due to the lack of crime. Philosophical challenges arose in the enlightenment, which was very man centred, people began to ask how man could improve the world and rationalism became popular and placed mans powers of reason above the Bible. In this time there was also the rise of scientism, secularism and also theological liberalism which is almost now dead in it's original form as it substitutes feelings for truth. There were also great social reforms the abolition of slavery, prohibtion and womens rights, the missionary movement really took off in the 19th century as transportation was revolutionised and this lead to the idea that the 20th century would be known as the 'christain century'.
