Edwin Parkyns delivers a good synopsis of all the teachings up to this point, and then launches out into the fall of Rome and the rise of the papacy. He shows how official Christendom degenerated from the 4th - 10th centuries as the Roman church became apostate, just as Jesus and Paul predicted would happen. Although the gospel was largely obscure, Parkyns points out that God has always had His remnant according to grace, preaching the pure gospel in spite of persecution.
