There is bearing the cross that is one of compulsion like the Roman soldiers did to Simon of Syrene and the cross of Jesus--something we choose voluntarily. We see the sovereignty of God working in Jesus' friends like Joseph of Arimathea and enemies Pilate and the chief priests , all to bear strong witness to the resurrection. We see angels who cannot tell the disciples and the chief priests who cannot tell the truth. All are instructive truths to live by. In the Great Commission, the emphasis is on making disciples. Brother Zac warns against being moved by tremendous need in the world without looking at God.
