Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you In the 30th message of this delightful, 34-part series on 1 Peter, A. W. Tozer observes three ways to bear adversity, from verses 12 to 19 of chapter 4. He then warns with Peter that the Christian faith is not to provide immunity for wrongdoers The deacon who doesn t pay his bills, the pastor who leaves the city owing debts, he can not, he dare not, hide these evils behind clerical immunity, or Christian immunity. Dr. Tozer concludes on a note of powerfully compelling evangelism, with masterful analogies to support Peter s exhortation that we commit the keeping of our souls to a faithful creator. The sermon was delivered on June 27, 1954, at Southside Alliance Church in Chicago, Illinois. Its length is 28 minutes and 50 seconds.
